Welcome to our Team's Homepage-Team Hubert Jr.!!!

Welcome to our Team's Homepage

For those of you that don't know, I have chosen to take on two platforms with my title as Ms. Iowa American Coed 2011. One of those platforms being Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the other Depression and Suicide Awareness. My daddy lost his battle with Leukemia on December 30, 2004 and I have struggled a bit ever since that event in my life. I was just going to walk by myself for the Light the Night Walk, but I decided last night that I wanted to do something bigger in his memory to start a team for this event. My team will be Team Hubert Jr. I am asking anyone to please join me in my walk in his memory as this will be my first Light the Night Walk and it is something that I want to do each year for years to come. If you are not able to join, I would love for anyone to please use the link on the page and donate. My minimum goal for my team is $100, but this definitely does not have to stop at $100. I would love to raise more than that. I have red rubber "relentless" wristbands that I am also selling to help raise money for the team.

Let's go Team Hubert Jr.!!!!!! :)

My Ol Kentucky Home!!!!

I know it has been a while and I aplogize.  A lot went on since I last blogged and I will say that everything worked out with my medications and I was able to get what I needed thanks to some very close people.(Thank God for guardian Angels!)

I made the long trip to good ol Kentucky the weekend of the 4th of July and stayed just about a week.  It was great!! I got to be maid of honor in a friend's wedding I have known since Kindergarden and got to see old friends and even did a fabulous photoshoot with one of the best Photographers in KY!  I am very excited to be able to add new photos to my portfolio so that I can start on bigger projects. (not too much before Ms. American Coed Nationals though...lol)

I do aplogize for those I did not get to see while I was home.  Hopefully next time I will have more time and it won't be 6 months before I make it back down.  Word to the wise... If you are going to be on vacation, be on vacation and don't overbook yourself and do so much in such short period of time that you are exhausted when you come back!!!  Yes, I did just that and I still have much work to do here at home!!

I finally got unpacked on Sunday night.  I got my bedroom vacuumed and cleaned up on Monday.  Today's project, probably my bathroom, lol  When you are in a rush you just throw stuff everywhere...and also when you are just so tired and still have to go to work 8:30-5.

I realized when I went home to KY I really do miss it.  The weather and being around people that I know.  Here in Iowa, people know me, but not like they know me back home.  I am surrounded by more strangers than anything.  Hearing people that talk like me and that hospitality, you just can't beat it in the south.  Who knows where my career and travels will take me but Kentucky will always be "My Ol Kentucky Home"!

Today, I will be at the Modern Woodman Park in Davenport, IA for an appearance with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for their annual Kick Off party!! 6-7:30 p.m.  Free Pizza! Come here me speak, get pics and mingle!! :)
